MRSA. Super Bugs. Cleanliness in hospitals. Infection Control is one of the greatest challenges facing the NHS today. A media frenzy, feeding on stories such as abattoirs allegedly having higher cleaning standards than hospitals, has fueled public fears and pushed Infection Control high up the political agenda.

All this is no bad thing. The impact of MRSA and other "super bugs" in terms of lives lost and the cost to the NHS cannot be under-estimated. Estimates vary, but between 5000 and 20,000 people die EACH YEAR from Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs). Compare this to around 3,500 people killed on our roads each year.

On average a patient with an HAI will typically stay in hospital an extra 11 days. As a result, HAIs cost the NHS an additional £1 BILLION a year in care costs.

This is why AT&F Solutions have launched their flagship training course, "Infection Controlled". The course targets the key areas that have been identified as having the biggest impact on HAIs. It is designed to be suitable for all hospital staff, both clinical and non-clinical, and provides the guidance staff need to help beat the bugs.
